This joint project with Colin Watt of Clophill Historical Society will examine the census transcripts from both Sharnbrook and Clophill and look for patterns that show similar development over time or differences over time. The study period will be 1841 to 1911 and will include the previous work on migration of AgLabs.
The goal will be to present a talk to the BLHA 2016 Annual Conference.
Background data on Sharnbrook's environment and geology has been include with the speadsheet of census data. The other data on AgLAb migration has been appended.
The census data from the two villages have been merged and graphs are being prepared on population, ages, occupations, school age etc. The incidence of both surnames and forenames is also being studied. The distribution of ages is used as an indicator of child mortality hence of general health within each community.
THe talk to BLHA was well received and was thought to be a good model for comparison of other villages in the County.
October 2016: A second talk was given to SLHG members. This concludes this project.
