DEs gave the talk based on the progress made by Laurence and his team .
The research project is well underway and the investigation into the infrastructure is showing interesting differences in the building materials used at different phases of construction.
The access to census data is being used to analyse the characters who were employed by Midland Railway at different times in its history.
A full report on the results of the project will be given when the book is complete.
