The yearly programme was concluded by a feast of Anglo Saxon delicacies and drink. The talk illustrated the ingredients being used and the types of food being prepared. Cod was the normal main protein for the Christmas feast! Examples showed how recipes varied across different regions.

The various roles for preparing or presenting food to the manorial table were explained.
