The survey of the natural landscape covered all four seasons and every corner of the Parish. Many different habitats were studied and photographic records were pivotal. The community volunteers were part of a large formal project to observe and collect samples over a period of years.
Team members were trained in the skill of botanical identification and methods of record keeping were improved throughout the study.
The availability of a professional photographer has resulted in a truly wonderful set of images.
Writing the final report in book format was daunting and publishing standards were used to control style and content.
Many of the techniques and skills used in recording facts were complementary to those used in Local History projects.
