A group visit to the vineyard at Southill showed how the Cistercian monks first planted the vines at the abbey in medieval times. The abbey , founded in 1135 had two vineyards, Greate and Lyttel, covering 14 acres. The legend of the Warden Pear in the famous Warden Pies was explained.
